Mr Andrew Bebbington is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea. Appointed as a consultant in 2009, he has over 15 years of specialist experience in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, and is a Bupa Platinum-recognised consultant.

He qualified with Honours from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1996 and completed fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, one of the UK’s leading hand surgery centres.

Training and Background

Mr Bebbington qualified with Honours from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1996 and undertook junior surgical training across South Wales, including a dedicated research post. He commenced his higher surgical training on the South West Regional Orthopaedic Programme in Bristol in 2003, covering all aspects of general orthopaedic surgery with a strong upper limb focus. He completed his advanced training fellowship in hand and wrist surgery at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham in 2009 and was appointed as a consultant at Morriston Hospital the same year. He also holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Research, Publications and Teaching

Mr Bebbington has published numerous papers in orthopaedic and hand surgery journals and has presented his research at national and international conferences. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
