Mr Thomas Bragg is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Sarcoma Surgeon at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea. He is the MDT Lead of the Welsh Sarcoma Service and Chair of the Welsh Sarcoma Advisory Group, making him one of the most senior sarcoma surgeons in Wales.
Mr Bragg is the Training Programme Director for the All Wales Plastic Surgery Higher Surgical Training Programme, and is a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University, where he contributes to the Graduate Entry Medical Degree course.

The Welsh Sarcoma Service
Mr Bragg has led the Welsh Sarcoma Service since 2015, overseeing a hub-and-spoke model centred in Swansea and delivered across Wales in partnership with Cardiff. The service manages around 210 to 220 sarcomas a year, with soft tissue tumours treated in Wales and complex bone and retroperitoneal cases referred to the regional centre of excellence in Birmingham. Mr Bragg is also leading the British Sarcoma Group’s bid for formal Sarcoma Tumour Improvement Groups (TIGs), and currently hosts one of the few UK Sarcoma Fellowships, delivered jointly with his skin cancer surgery colleagues.
Training and Appointments
Mr Bragg graduated in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 2001. He completed basic surgical training in Worcestershire and Warwickshire, gaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2005, before undertaking higher surgical training in Oxford, London and Stoke Mandeville. He completed a year as Senior Fellow in Sarcoma Surgery in 2015.
