Mr Dean Boyce is a senior consultant plastic surgeon, who was born and educated in South Wales. After qualifying as a doctor in 1990, he underwent 13 years of surgical training in Wales, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, and Sydney Australia, returning to Wales as a consultant plastic surgeon in 2003 after being elected to the UK specialist register for plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has many years’ experience in leading a dedicated team to deliver the safest and highest quality of plastic surgery care. His caring and informal demeanour will make you feel at ease during all stages of your treatment.
Mr Boyce was awarded a Postgraduate Doctorate after research into human and scarless wound healing and maintains a strong research interest, having published over 50 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. In reward for this prestigious research he was made a Hunterian Professor by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2003. For Mr Boyce and his team, your safety and care are paramount. Surgery will only be offered if it is in your best interests. He will make you fully aware about what treatment involves, how much time will be needed to recover and return to your daily activities, and the potential problems that may arise.
As a founder member of Safer Cosmetic Surgery, quality of care is paramount, and Mr Boyce will dedicate time to address your concerns and decide which surgery is most suitable. As each individual is unique, he may also advise that certain surgery is not suitable for you. He is also passionate about teaching future surgeons, being a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Plastic Surgery and a member of the Court of Examiners for the FRCS(Plast) examinations (the examination which allows Surgeons to become consultants in the UK). He was given the honour of hosting these important international examinations in Wales in 2015.
