Mr Andrew Bebbington was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon based in Morriston Hospital in Swansea in August 2009. He has a special interest in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, dealing with all areas of general and complex hand, wrist and nerve conditions as well as with complex hand, wrist and elbow trauma. Qualifying from University Wales College of Medicine in 1996 with honours, he undertook junior surgical training posts throughout South Wales including a research post. He started his higher surgical orthopaedic training programme in 2003, based in Bristol and the South West and covering all aspects of general orthopaedic surgery with a bias towards upper limb surgery, following which he completed a senior fellowship advanced training post in hand and wrist surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2009. Mr. Bebbington has published numerous papers in orthopaedic and hand journals as well as many national and international presentations at conferences and has also obtained a diploma in sports and exercise medicine.
