Professor Lavinia Margarit is a Consultant Obstetrician-Gynaecologist at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea, and Gynaecological Cancer Unit Lead at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. She has been an NHS consultant in Wales since 2003 and holds an Honorary Professorship at Swansea University, first awarded in 2018. Training and Qualifications

Professor Margarit trained at the University Hospital of Patras, Greece, with an extensive background in General Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and holds a PhD focused on diagnostic methods for high-risk obstetric conditions. She completed the Diploma in Fetal Medicine with Professor Kypros Nicolaides at the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London in 2001, one of the world’s foremost centres for fetal medicine. She was awarded an MSc in Gynaecological Endoscopy from the University of Surrey in 2011 and an MD from Swansea University in 2010, focused on female infertility.
