Dr Shaheena Sadiq

Dr Shaheena Sadiq is an NHS consultant who also works at HMT Sancta Maria. Her main field is Neuroradiology.


Imaging of diseases such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, brain tumours, headache and dementia.




Dr Sadiq qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster (Now Imperial) Medical school, University of London in 1993, and completed Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons on 1995, followed by Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2005 at which point she was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist to Swansea Bay Health Board (SBHB) and has been practicing across the radiology departments within Neath and Swansea, with dual interest in Neuro- as well as Head and Neck imaging.

Her Neuroradiology subspecialty interest includes CT and MRI of the brain and spine with particular focus on patients with headache, dizziness, hearing loss, symptoms of brain tumours, stroke, MS, and Dementia. She is part of the Neurosciences service in Swansea Bay, often giving second opinions for scans acquired in other health boards and is an active member of the Neuroradiology MDT, diagnosing neurological diseases of the brain and spine. She is a member of the British and European Societies of Neuroradiology.

Her other speciality is head and neck imaging, both adults and children, and is lead head and neck radiologist for SBHB. She regularly performs ultrasound of neck lumps and the thyroid and regularly performs biopsy to diagnose or exclude cancers such as Lymphoma, and other head and neck cancers. She has helped set up the rapid diagnosis centre for neck lumps in Swansea Bay, facilitating early cancer diagnosis. She is an active member of the SBHB head and neck cancer team and holds membership of both British and European Head and Neck Radiology Societies, as well as British Association of Head and Neck Oncology.
