Mr Ketan Shah is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea, holding dual registration with both the General Dental Council and General Medical Council. MDT and Cancer Service Roles
Mr Shah is a core member of the Head and Neck Cancer MDT at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, and a member of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. He works closely with oncologists, radiologists and specialist nurses to ensure comprehensive, team-based care for cancer patients, and employs enhanced recovery programmes to support faster and more effective recovery.
Training and Background
Mr Shah completed his dental degrees (BDS and MDS) at Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai, before undertaking his medical degree (MBBS) and surgical training, gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and Fellowship of the Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (FDSRCS). He completed his specialist registrar training on the Yorkshire Deanery programme and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also holds a postgraduate degree from Trinity College Dublin.
Over his career Mr Shah has performed more than 6,000 dental extractions ranging from straightforward to highly complex cases.
