Mr Ananth is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) in South Wales employed by the Cwm Taff UHB and based between Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr, and Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant.

Mr Ananth is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trained in the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services. He studied medicine in Cardiff and undertook basic and higher surgical training in London and South Wales. Following this he underwent a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery in the United States.

His subspecialty interests include facial deformity, craniofacial trauma, cutaneous malignancy, salivary gland diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders, oral medicine and dentoalveolar surgery.

Mr Ananth is the Training Programme Director for OMFS in Wales and is committed to training and teaching. He is also the national recruitment lead for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the national elogbook lead.

Mr Ananth is a liaison member of the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) which influences training in the UK. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory board for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BJOMS) and a reviewer for several international journals. In addition, he is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons for the Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS).

Mr Ananth’s interests outside work include travel and sports particularly cricket.
