Conditions Treated and Procedures Offered at Sancta Maria Hospital
Mr Whittet offers private consultations and surgical treatment across the full range of ENT conditions at Sancta Maria Hospital. His rhinological practice covers chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), balloon sinuplasty and the latest cryosurgical treatment for chronic rhinitis (ClariFix). He also assesses and treats tear duct obstruction using endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), working closely with ophthalmology colleagues, and provides assessment and surgical management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. General ENT consultations for adults and children are also available, covering ear, nose and throat conditions across all areas.
Complex Rhinology
Mr Whittet has developed one of the most specialised rhinological practices in Wales, attracting referrals from across the country for complex sinus and nasal conditions. ClariFix is a minimally invasive cryosurgical procedure that uses targeted cold therapy to reduce the overactive nerves that cause persistent rhinitis symptoms, and is one of the newer treatment options Mr Whittet offers for patients whose rhinitis has not responded to standard medical management.
Tear Duct Surgery
Mr Whittet works closely with ophthalmology colleagues to assess and manage tear duct obstruction using endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), a minimally invasive procedure that creates a new drainage pathway for the tear duct without the need for a facial incision.

Mr Whittet qualified from King’s College Hospital, London and undertook his ENT training at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, London, the Hospital for Sick Children at Great Ormond Street, and Oxford, before being appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon in Swansea in 1994.
