Mr Conor Marnane

Mr Conor Marnane is a Consultant in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Head and Neck Surgery at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea, with over 17 years of consultant experience. He has held senior national leadership roles in head and neck cancer, including as Chairman of the All-Wales Cancer Site Group for Head and Neck Cancer and Lead Head and Neck Clinician for the Wales Cancer Network. He currently serves as Deputy Clinical Director of the National Strategic Clinical Network for Cancer Networks and Planning.

Mr Marnane offers private consultations and surgical treatment across the full range of ENT and head and neck conditions, including benign and malignant head and neck disease, neck lumps, salivary gland conditions and Trans Oral Laser surgery. He treats voice disorders, throat and swallowing problems, nasal polyps, sinusitis and deviated nasal septum, and performs advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty. He also sees patients with ear conditions and provides general ENT consultations for adults and children, including tonsil and adenoid surgery.
Complex Voice Disorder Clinic
Mr Marnane leads the regional Complex Voice Disorder Clinic at Morriston Hospital, one of a small number of specialist clinics in Wales dedicated to the assessment and management of complex voice problems. Patients with persistent voice changes, hoarseness or voice loss that has not responded to standard treatment can access this specialist service privately through Sancta Maria Hospital.
Training and Fellowship
Mr Marnane graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine and completed his Higher Surgical Training in Otolaryngology in South West England. He subsequently undertook a year as Senior Fellow in Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, where he developed expertise in Trans Oral Laser surgery and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, techniques that he has continued to develop throughout his consultant career.
Research and Teaching
Mr Marnane holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Tutor position at Swansea University Medical School and has published research in Clinical Otolaryngology, the official journal of ENT UK. He has an active interest in surgical education and training.
NHS Practice and Leadership
Mr Marnane has been a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Morriston Hospital since 2007, where he is a senior member of the Head and Neck Cancer MDT. His national leadership roles have included Chairman of the All-Wales Cancer Site Group for Head and Neck Cancer, Lead Head and Neck Clinician for the Wales Cancer Network, and Clinical Director of Surgical Specialities.
