Mr Amir Kambal is an experienced general, upper GI & pancreaticobiliary surgeon. He uses advance laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) techniques to treat most types of general surgical problems, thereby giving the patient a chance for a quicker recovery, shorter hospital stay & a reduced risk of infection. His practice includes treatment of all types of hernias, lumps & abdominal pains. Mr Kambal is a certified performer of Endoscopy (magic eye). He deals with reflux disease (heartburn) & swallowing problems. Moreover, he is a surgeon in the referral unit for all other hospitals in Wales for pancreaticobiliary cancer, simple & complex gallbladder diseases.
After qualification Amir moved to Ireland then Wales for training. He also had further training (at a fellowship level) at Northwick Park, Imperial College Hospital, London & King’s College Hospital, London. He was awarded a Diploma & Master in Surgical Sciences from the University of London in addition to a Masters in Surgical Education from Imperial College London. He is a Clinical Lecturer (Hon.) Swansea Medical School. Mr Kambal’s most recent achievement is that he was honoured by Swansea Bay University Health Board for their Patient’s Choice Award in both 2015 & 2018.
