Dr Ahmed Hailan is a tertiary consultant and interventional cardiologist at Morriston Regional Cardiac Centre, based in Morriston Hospital, Swansea.

He completed his undergraduate medical training in the Czech Republic in 2002, before moving to the UK to undertake postgraduate training in the Kent and Sussex region, where he achieved substantive experience in general cardiology. Subsequently, he moved to Wales for training in Cardiology with a special interest in coronary intervention.

His current practice involves investigation of chest pain, angina, simple and complex coronary angioplasty (predominantly by radial approach) including adjunctive intracoronary imaging (IVUS, OCT, FFR).

In addition to clinical work, he has an interest in postgraduate training and has recently been appointed to the post of training programme director for Cardiology in the Wales Deanery.
