Mr Christopher Davies is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea. He has been a consultant since 2011 and is Clinical Lead for Vascular Surgery for the South and West Wales Vascular Network, covering the planning and delivery of vascular surgical services across the region.

Varicose Vein Treatment
Mr Davies offers modern minimally invasive varicose vein treatments, including radiofrequency ablation, which can be performed as walk-in, walk-out procedures, allowing patients to return to work the following day if they wish. He has been performing varicose vein treatments throughout his career and teaches ultrasound-guided venous surgery and sclerotherapy to trainee surgeons locally and nationally. Endovascular Surgery
Mr Davies was awarded the Ethicon Travelling Fellowship for his final year of surgical training, which took him to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia, where he gained early expertise in endovascular surgery at a time when the technique was in its infancy. He brought these skills back to Wales on his return and has been performing endovascular procedures as a consultant since 2011. He has played a key role in developing revascularisation services for ischaemic legs within the South and West Wales Vascular Network.
Training and Appointments
Mr Davies qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine and undertook his surgical training in South Wales at the Royal Gwent Hospital before moving to the South of England for higher surgical training. He was awarded the Ethicon Travelling Fellowship and spent a year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia, before returning to Wales and being appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in 2011.
Teaching and National Roles
Mr Davies is recognised as an experienced examiner for both the United Kingdom vascular surgery examinations and the European Board of Vascular Surgery examinations. He is actively involved in reviewing the provision of vascular and vascular access surgery on a regional and national basis and teaches ultrasound-guided venous surgery and sclerotherapy to trainee surgeons locally and nationally.

Mr Davies’ NHS practice at Morriston Hospital covers the full range of vascular surgery including endovascular and open repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid surgery and revascularisation of ischaemic legs. He is Clinical Lead for the South and West Wales Vascular Network.
