Vascular Surgery
Mr Christopher Davies went to the University of Wales College of Medicine to study medicine. Following his graduation he embarked on his surgical training in South Wales at the Royal Gwent Hospital. Mr Davies moved to the South of England for his higher Surgical training where he had the privilege of working with some stellar trainers to whom he will always be indebted. Mr Davies was awarded an Ethicon Travelling fellowship for his final year of training and moved to Adelaide Australia for the year where he learned a vast amount including endovascular surgery which at the time was in its infancy. He has been fortunate to bring this skill back to Wales and has carried it out as a consultant since 2011.
Mr Davies has a keen interest in all aspects of vascular surgery particularly the management of Peripheral Vascular Disease, Aortic Aneurysms and Varicose veins. He is also well recognised for his work in providing access for people that need dialysis and the surgery that is required for this.
He is a Royal College examiner for the final examination for vascular surgeons and his training role in preparing surgeons of the future is another passion of his.
