MRI Scan

Are you looking to have an MRI scan (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)?

This type of scan uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce incredibly detailed images of various parts of your body.

The results of your scan can be used to help diagnose conditions, plan treatments and assess how effective a previous treatment has been.

Some common reasons for an MRI Scan is to look at:

  • brain and spinal cord
  • bones and joints
  • breasts
  • heart and blood vessels
  • internal organs, such as the liver, womb or prostate gland

Ultrasound

Are you interested in having an ultrasound?

Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs, the musculoskeletal system, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and soft tissue, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.

Ultrasound is safe and painless, and produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. The ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive medical test that helps diagnose and treat medical conditions. It can also be used to monitor an existing condition.

X-ray

Do you require an X-ray?

An X-ray is a quick and painless procedure commonly used to produce images of the inside of the body.

X-rays are most commonly used to examine denser parts of the body such as joints and bones. Other reasons to have an X-ray include:

  • bone fractures and breaks
  • tooth problems, such as loose teeth and dental abscesses
  • scoliosis (abnormal curvature of the spine)
  • non-cancerous and cancerous bone tumours
  • lung problems, such as pneumonia and lung cancer
  • dysphagia (swallowing problems)
  • heart problems, such as heart failure
  • breast cancer

Cardiac MRI

Are you in need of a Cardiac MRI?

The Cardiac (Heart) MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is specifically tailored to capture the structure, function, and tissue characteristics of the heart.

It gives a three-dimensional view, to see the heart beating in real-time, measure blood flow, assess damage from previous heart attacks, and detect inflammation, scarring, or congenital heart abnormalities. This helps in diagnosing heart conditions, evaluating the extent of any damage, and guiding treatment decisions.
