HMT Sancta Maria Hospital becomes Official Medical Partner of Scarlets Rugby

HMT Sancta Maria Hospital is proud to announce a new partnership with Scarlets Rugby, becoming the club’s Official Medical Partner. Our specialist clinical teams will work alongside the Scarlets’ medical and performance staff throughout the season. Together we will support players with assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

For a not-for-profit hospital rooted in South Wales, this partnership is about more than elite sport. It’s a chance to stand alongside one of the region’s best-loved clubs and share a commitment to health, performance and community.

What does the partnership involve?

As Official Medical Partner, Sancta Maria Hospital will add to the Scarlets’ existing medical provision rather than replace it. When players need specialist input, our consultants and clinical teams will be on hand to support. This includes the early assessment and diagnosis of injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation to support a safe return to play.

The two teams will work together, with player health and wellbeing at the centre of every decision.

Why does specialist medical care matter in professional rugby?

Rugby is a physically demanding sport, and injuries are part of the game. Quick access to expert assessment and imaging can make a real difference to how quickly a player recovers. A clear treatment plan and structured rehabilitation also help reduce the risk of the injury coming back.

The same approach guides how we care for every patient at Sancta Maria, whether they play professional sport, weekend rugby, or simply want to get back to the things they love.
