Hospital Director appointed at HMT Sancta Maria

HMT Sancta Maria, based in Swansea’s SA1 Waterfront, has announced the appointment of new hospital director Judith Hall.

Aiming to further develop the hospital’s patient-centred healthcare services, Judith joins HMT Sancta Maria as Hospital Director following roles in the private healthcare sector, most recently as Commercial Director.

Judith began her career as a nurse, before working in the pharmaceutical industry as a Wales-based business development manager.

Gaining an MBA in 2003 and joining the private healthcare sector in 2006, Judith brings over 18 years’ experience in private healthcare management to her first Hospital Director role.

Speaking of her appointment, Judith said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Hospital Director at HMT Sancta Maria and look forward to working with the team to build on the patient-centric approach to service delivery. I plan to draw on my years in private healthcare to guide and shape our business strategy, expanding areas of service to those patients throughout West Wales. 

“HMT Sancta Maria has a great reputation for delivering high quality patient centred care which is very important to me. Our team of specialist surgeons and medical professionals along with the support of our non-clinical team, offer exceptional patient care in state-of-the-art facilities.

“The values and practices of HMT [Healthcare Management Trust] were also a huge pull for me to take on this role. The not-for-profit status of the organisation means HMT reinvests surplus in medical research and local charities, therefore benefiting the wider community. 

“My goals for HMT Sancta Maria’s development will build on the excellent reputation the hospital already has, ensuring we continue to offer superb clinical care in a way that prioritises patient safety and experience. I believe we can take the level of care we offer to the next level, continuing to meet – and exceed – patient expectations.”

Based in SA1, HMT Sancta Maria provides the local community with access to  specialist local consultants. Not only does it provide a wide range of daycase and surgical procedures whilst also enabling patients access to state of the art diagnostic facilities. As a new hospital, it has arguably three of the most modern theatre facilities in the locality benefiting patients
