HMT Sancta Maria Hospital Continued Community Health Event Series with Menopause Information Evening

Date published: October 16, 2026

Sancta Maria Hospital has welcomed members of the local community to a special menopause information evening, helping woman better understand their symptoms, treatment options and the support available to them.

The event, held at the private hospital in Swansea, was the second in a series of three public health information events designed to give local people the opportunity to hear directly from Dr Sandar Hlaing, British Menopause Society Specialist and Consultant GP. The evening explored menopause and perimenopause, including common symptoms, how hormonal changes can affect everyday life and the different approaches available to help manage symptoms.

Guests were able to ask questions, discuss concerns and gain a better understanding of when and where to seek support.

With menopause affecting women in different ways, the event aimed to encourage more open conversations about a stage of life that an sometimes leave women feeling uncertain about their symptoms or unsure where to turn for advice.

Tracy Ace, Hospital Director at Sancta Maria Hospital, said:

“Menopause is something that every woman will experience differently, yet we know there are still many questions and misconceptions surrounding it. We wanted to create an opportunity for women to come together, hear from a specialist and feel more confident about understanding their health and the support available to help.”

The event forms part of Sancta Maria Hospital’s wider commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community through education, awareness and access to specialist healthcare.

With one further event planned as part of the series, the hospital hopes to continue encouraging conversations around important health topics and helping people make informed decisions about their care.
