HMT Sancta Maria Hospital opens its doors for new patient health event series
Date published: August 28, 2026
Sancta Maria Hospital has launched a new programme of health events in Swansea, giving local people the opportunity to hear directly from specialist consultants and learn more about the treatment and support available to them.
The first event took place at the hospital on Wednesday 26th August, with Consultant Dr Sandar Hlaing leading an evening dedicated to menopause.
Members of the local community were invited into the hospital to learn more about the changes that can happen during perimenopause and menopause, the symptoms women may experience and the different options available for managing them. The event also gave attendees the opportunity to hear directly from a consultant in a relaxed setting, helping people to feel better informed about when they may want to seek further advice or support. It is the first in a series of menopause events planned at the hospital, with further dates to be announced.
The hospital is also developing a wider programme of events over the coming months covering areas including orthopaedics and plastic surgery, giving people across Swansea and the surrounding area the chance to meet specialists, understand different conditions and treatments, and find out what options are available locally.
Rhydian Gierat, Head of Sales and Market Engagement at Sancta Maria Hospital, said:
“We know that making decisions about your health can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when you don’t know what treatment might involve or where to start.
“These events are about making specialist healthcare more accessible. People can come into the hospital, hear from the consultants who actually diagnose and treat these conditions, ask questions and leave feeling better informed about their options.
“Our menopause evening was the first of what we hope will become a regular programme at Sancta Maria. We have more menopause events planned and will also be opening our doors for events covering orthopaedics, plastic surgery and other areas of healthcare over the coming months.”
Sancta Maria Hospital provides private healthcare in Swansea across a range of specialities, including consultations, diagnostic investigations and surgery. Patients can access private treatment whether they have private medical insurance or choose to self-fund their care.
The hospital hopes the new events will provide another way for local people to access reliable health information and get to know the specialists and services available on their doorstep.
Details of the next patient events will be announced on their website and social media pages – Sancta Maria Facebook
