HMT Sancta Maria Hospital Proudly Supports Gower Bike Ride
We are proudly sponsoring this year’s Gower Bike Ride which takes place on 24th and 25th July. Over that weekend, two events – the Junior Gower Ride and the Gower Ride – will see hundreds of cyclists cover 8, 12 or 35 mile routes throughout our beautiful Gower landscape.
As an organisations that promotes healthy lifestyles, we couldn’t be happier to support the Gower Bike Ride again. We are passionate about supporting the community in Swansea and are thrilled that this event is able to go ahead after having to cancel last year.
Cyclists are being encouraged to register for their place in their event now as on-the-day registrations are not allowed this year. Registrations close on Wednesday 21st July. You can register here.
The Junior Gower Ride on Saturday 24th July, is open for riders aged 14 and under and is an 8-mile ride along the Prom. Parents need to accompany children on the ride but the route is entirely off-road.
The Gower Ride which takes place on Sunday 25th July offers a shorter 12 mile route as well as the full 35 mile route starting and finishing at the Cenotaph. The event has a full support system in place including first aid provision, riding marshals, water and food stops, cycle repairs and recovery vehicles.
This year the Gower Bike Ride has teamed up with the South Wales Evening Post and Walesonline with all proceeds from the event going to their two key charities, 2 Wish Upon a Star and Mind Cymru. We are delighted to align with these charities and hope that the event is a huge success.
Good luck to all the riders!
